MAC RETRO MATTE LIQUID LIPCOLOUR - REVIEW

If it's not a Kardashian post, it's a matte lipstick post! Matte lipsticks have fast become my favourite lip product to use. I love that they stay all day and it feels like you are wearing nothing on your lips. One brand that I had yet to try was the MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour. I had heard excellent reviews on the product, however never got round to getting my hands on one.

So, yesterday on my lunch break I finally picked one up in one of their new colours, Red Jade. I was completely drawn to this colour as it is perfect for the warmer months and would look amazing with a tan. Each lipcolour costs £21.00, which I don't feel is too unreasonable for Mac. (I did manage to use my staff discount on these purchases though - hehe!)
What I like most about this product is the applicator. The pointed tip really allows you to put the product on with precision and you could even line your lips with the tip if you wanted to. I applied this product with the Mac Prep + Prime lip primer and then with a No.7 lip liner that more or less matched the colour (it was only slightly darker). 



The colour is such a pretty red coral colour - it's as if relentlessly red & ruby woo had a love child in liquid form. It is definitely one of my favourite red colours and really stands out. 

The formula is not drying at all and really glides onto the lips. I'm really impressed with this product and plan on growing my collection, which my bank account allows it.

    so glad you've done a review of this as i've been wanting to purchase one but didn't want to risk a bad product for £21! i personally love matte liquid lipsticks they are pretty much the only thing i wear haha

      I'm exactly the same - only wear matte liquid lipsticks! I highly reccomend you also try out Gerard Cosmetics, they are just as good!

    I have never tried MAC liquid lipsticks. I am obsessed with Kat Von Ds Lolita and NYX lip creams. This looks amazing. Will definitely check it out x

      I'm dying to try Kat Von Ds, but they are very difficult to come across in the UK! They're on my Sephora whishlist!

    So glad you did a review of this, I've been thinking about buying one! I normally steer clear of matte lipsticks because my lips get quite dry, but the colours are so pretty I really want to try these! Would love if you could check out my fashion post? XX

      I always use a lip primer under the product and it never feels drying! The colours are amazing :)
