According to the health authorities we should all be drinking roughly 2 liters of water a day. I've always thought that I drink plenty of water, but once I started counting the mili-litres and litres I'm actually drinking - I realised I'm actually no where near drinking 2 liters a day. It's so important to keep hydrated during the day - for your skin, your health and fitness. I've also found that when I don't drink enough water I start to get really had headaches. I've come up with 10 ways to help you (and me) make sure you drink enough water throughout the day.

1. Make it a habit. 

I live by the face that once you had done something consecutively for 12 days straight it becomes a habit. So, if you make sure that you are downing half a liter of water as soon as you wake up, that's one quatre of the target complete before you even leave the house and the more you do it, the more natural it will become. Soon, it will just be second nature to wake up & chug!

2. Buy yourself a fancy water bottle. 
Victoria Secret's do really cute water bottles & would totally inspire you to keep drinking throughout the day. I know it sounds silly, but if you had a cute water bottle you're probably more likely to carry it around with you and actually use it rather than a crushed up Evian bottle. 

3. Set reminders in your phone. 

I know there is an app for everything and about 50 different apps that you can track your water intake, set reminders and calculate every health problem you could imagine but it doesn't need to be so time consuming. Just set a couple of reminders alarms a day labelled with something to catch your attention and drinking water will definitely stay at the front of your mind.

4. Drink more tea or coffee. 

So, technically it's not water - but it still counts! Tea is just basically flavored warm water & coffee is essentially.. well let's call it energy water. It might only be an extra couple of cups a day, but every little helps!

5. Make fruity water.
Now, you could get super tumblr with this - like in the picture above but chucking some chopped up fruit in your water adds an extra flavour and makes it slightly more interesting. Drinking 2 litres of anything a day can get boring, so mix it up a little the possibilities are endless with fruit infused water. Plus they look good in instagram pictures. Double plus you had use hashtag #waterinfused #cleanliving.

6. Use a straw
Simple really, you drink more and faster. Win-win.

7. Order something spicy.
Not the most natural way to achieving your target but a spicy meal will also certainly have you drinking more than you normally would! So order that extra hot vindaloo and keep a jug nearby, you'll be exceeding 2 litres in no time.

8. Eat your water intake
Foods such as cucumber or water based ice lollies can also add to your daily water intake. Yeah, you read that right I said eating an ice lolly is healthy and good for you.
